Two week check up

This past Tuesday we went for our two week check up.  Jaxon weighed 7lbs 9oz, back up to birth weight, his jaundice was clearing up, and everything else looked great!  The doctor said he was perfect!!  No shots at this visit but we did have to go over to the lab to have his heel pricked for the newborn screening.  He didn't cry when they cut his heel, he did cry when the nurse started to squeeze and squeeze his heel to get enough blood for the test.  I think he was more mad that she had woken him up than crying because it hurt.  :)  Our next visit will be at 2 months and he will get shots at that visit.  Mommy is not looking forward to that!!

Jaundice

We came home on Thursday and Saturday had to take Jaxon to the pediatrician for a check up.  He had a little bit of jaundice when we left the hospital and the doctor wanted us to have it checked to make sure it wasn't getting too high.  His bilirubin levels had gone up quite a bit and he was looking like a pumpkin so we went back on Sunday for another check.  Thankfully by Sunday his bilirubin levels had started to decrease and his weight was coming back up after loosing a full pound from delivery.

First trip to the doctor

Saturday he also got to meet one of his great grandmothers and some of his cousins.  My Memaw came down with my cousin Tria and her 2 girls.  We spent the day at mom and dad's and introduced Jaxon to his relatives.

He met his other great grandma at the hospital when he was 1 day old.

He is surrounded by family who loves and adores him.  What a precious gift that is.

JAXON REED MOUSER

OK, I know it has been WAY too long since I have posted any blogs but things have been a little busy around here.  On March 1, 2011 we welcomed our sweet precious little Jaxon into the world.  I went in at 5:30 that morning to be induced and he arrived at 6:02p.m. that evening.  He weighed 7lbs 10oz and was 21 1/2 inches long.

Labor went pretty smoothly.  I did end up having to have a second epidural because the 1st catheter came out and I was feeling ALL my contractions.  After the second one I was good!!  Whoever discovered the epidural is my hero!  It is a wonderful drug. We came home late Thursday afternoon and he did wonderfully in the car.  He slept the entire way home!  He cried just a little bit when we first put him in the car seat but once we started moving he was very content.
Loaded up ready to go home
(Yes his face is red because he was not too sure about the car seat)

We are so excited to have him home with us and we could not imagine out lives without him.  He is such a precious miracle and blessing from God!!
