1 year pics

Our friend Robyn who took Jaxon's 4 month pictures did another wonderful job with Jaxon's 1 year pictures.  The weather had been great for a week leading up to taking pictures and then the day we want to take pictures a cold front has come through and it is quite cool and the cloudy.  The pictures were still great.  I had a hard time choosing my favorites because there were so many that turned out.

My absolute favorite!

11 Months

Well it has almost been a year since we welcomed our sweet little boy into the world.  He has changed so much in the last 11 months it is crazy.  In the last month and a half he has gone from a baby to a toddler which is exciting and bittersweet all at the same time.  Here are just a few of his latest accomplishments.

11 months:
*3 teeth
*says "Momma", "Dada", "Duke", "Nana" for banana
*Sign: More, All Done
*Walking
*transitioning to big people food
*does not like pasta
*LOVES bananas

I tried taking a picture of him in his 11 month onsie but he is so active right now this is the best I could get.  :)

Blurry because he would not stay still.

10 months already!!

Wow!  These past 10 months have flown by.  In just 2 short months my sweet little boy will be 1 year old!  It makes me a little sad that he is growing out of that little baby stage and into the mobile, playful, active toddler.  I am however, looking forward to this next stage.  He is so much fun right now and does something new and hilarious everyday.  Tonight for example he discovered that he could make this really cool noise with his mouth.  We spent several minutes in the bath tub making "farting" noises on the side of the tub.  I wish I had had my phone with me to record.  Brett and I were in tears we were laughing so hard.

10 Months:
*2 teeth on bottom and working on top teeth (oh how fun that is!)
*standing alone
*taking 4-5 steps unassisted, but can walk holding your hand or pushing a toy
(We are going to be in trouble the minute he starts walking because the boy has got some wheels.  I have never seem a baby move that fast!)
*loves his blanket
*loves his bed
*is very much a ham and loves to have your attention (something he got from Uncle Blake and Aunt Sarah)
*says "Mamama"  and "Dada"

New Year!

Ok, it's a new year and I am making a resolution to keep this more updated.  Jaxon is doing something new everyday and I am going to try my very best to keep everyone up to date.  We had a wonderful Christmas break visiting family and enjoying our first Christmas together as a family of 3.  It really was the best first Christmas.  He loved playing in the wrapping paper scraps and tissue paper.  Below are some pictures from Christmas and our 9 month picture.

8 months old!!

Where has the time gone?  I can not believe that my precious little boy is already 8 months old.  It seems like just yesterday we were bringing him home and now he is 8 months old and crawling all over and pulling up on everything.  He has really started to develop a personality and he is a ham.  We can lay him in bed at night and we will hear him talking and playing.  When we go it to check on him he is usually standing up playing with the mobile projector on the side of his bed.  A huge smile breaks across his face when he notices we are watching.  He loves to cuddle with his blankie when he gets tired and rubs it on the side of his face.  It is the sweetest thing ever!  He loves to talk to his toys and us, although we aren't quite sure what he is saying, he's telling us some great stories!  I've tried to capture this cuteness on camera but it never fails as soon as I get it out he gets more interested in check out the camera and quits talking.  I did however manage to catch some on video recently, but as soon as he sees I have the camera he crawls over to inspect it.

8 month milestones
*Weight: a little over 16lbs
*Pulling up and walking along furniture
*Has let go of things and tried to take steps but quickly falls down
*No teeth
*Becoming very talkative

Look at that sweet face!!

1st illnesses

Yes that is plural, illnesses!  The month of October was not good to us in the health department.  The first week in October I got a phone call at work from "Mimi" telling me that Jaxon had woke up from his nap with 101.3 fever.  I quickly got things situated at school and left to go pick him up.  Luckily they had an appointment available that afternoon for him to see the doctor.  Poor thing did not feel good and all he wanted to do was sit in your lap and hold his blankie.  The doctor told us it looked like a sinus infection so we started our first round of antibiotics.  After 10 days of being on the medicine and 4 days at home, he was back to himself.

Last Friday morning while getting ready to go to "Mimi's" house, we were eating breakfast and while I was finishing getting everything together I hear this coughing/choking sound.  I look over to see all of Jaxon's breakfast coming back up again.  I didn't think much of it other than he must have choked or started to cough while drinking his milk and it just caused everything to come back up.  He has a VERY sensitive gag reflex so it didn't shock me too much.  We got everything cleaned up and headed out.  When I picked him up she said he had started to have some loose diapers.  By Sunday it was full blown diarrhea.  I think we went through every pair of clothing the child owns because nothing could contain the mess.  The good thing in all of this was that he not once acted like he felt bad.  He as happy, playful, and full of energy.  So again we were home for 3 days till we could keep in some of our food.  Luckily, Mommy and Daddy did not get the stomach virus that Jaxon had.  I was fully prepared for it just in case!!

I am happy to report that we are now illness free!  Let's hope November is much kinder to us.

Homecoming Parade

This Friday was homecoming for the Brenham Cubs.  So as you can imagine, there were lots of homecoming activities during the week including the homecoming parade.  This was Jaxon's first of many homecoming parades to attend.  We picked up daddy from the field house and headed downtown to get our spot.  After dropping daddy off at the football float we met up with Kelci, LeAnn and Vicki in front of the courthouse.  It was right at Jaxon's dinner time so he was in the best of moods at first.  Once he had his cup and his nice relaxing seat with a good view, he was ready to go.  Here are a few pictures of Jaxon at the parade.  Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures of the actual floats at the parade because my camera is too slow so all of the ones I did take were blurry.  Many that means I need a new camera! ; )

"Why are you doing this to me?"
