I was walking down the hall today after taking my children to lunch. I passed by a kindergarten class waiting quietly in the hall to use the restroom before recess. A little boy stopped me and asked "Did you gets pregnant?" My reply was "Yes I am pregnant." As I continue to walk to my room I hear him tell another child, "She gonna have a baby cause her boyfriend gots her pregnant!" How lovely I thought! I couldn't help but laugh at the conversation. Although it did make me a little sad. Knowing some of their backgrounds, I'm sure its something that see and hear on a regular basis.

Jaxon update
Yesterday I went for my 261/2 week (6 month) checkup with Dr. Gayle. I knew it would be a long appointment because I was not only seeing the doctor I was also having a growth ultrasound and my glucose test, which takes an hour. Things went pretty quickly and the time didn't feel like forever which was nice. The ultrasound was great. He is continuing to grow right on target, even a little bit ahead. And if there was any doubt before about him being a boy there in none now. In the words of the ultrasound tech. "Wow, oh yeah that's definitely a boy!"
My glucose test however did not go as well. I FAILED! I now get to go back in 2 weeks for a 3 hour test! Oh boy I can't wait! I was doing ok until Dr. Gayle came in a started talking to me about it. And then of course the water works began and I couldn't turn them off. He of course had to poke a little fun at me, but reassured me that everything was fine and 40% of women fail it the first time anyway. I was feeling fine about it, I just couldn't stop crying. I was laughing and crying all at the same time. He told me just to cut out carbs and sweets for the next two weeks and watch what I'm eating. I felt like I had been eating pretty healthy but I guess not quite good enough.
I had planned to do a little Christmas shopping while I was in College Station but since I couldn't stop crying I just decided to go on home. Those darn hormones while make a women crazy! All things considered the pregnancy has gone very well and I am happy to be carrying a healthy, growing little boy! I'll update in two weeks to let you know how the 3 hour test goes. Hopefully I can pass this time!
Many Blessings!

Long over due update
Ok, so it has been quite a while since I have been on here. So let's just do a quick recap of the last month. November was a very busy month. Brenham made the playoffs but sadly lost in the first round. It probably shouldn't have happened but that's just the way the cookie crumbles sometimes. We then immediately moved into basketball and I do mean immediately. Football playoff on Saturday, basketball practice on Monday and 1st game on Tuesday! Nothing like diving right in. I will admit it has been nice having Brett home earlier in the evenings.
November also brought a multitude of birthdays!! All within a week and a half of each other. Trey, Cathy, Mom, and Emmie! Mom and I drove up the Saturday of Emmie's birthday party to hang out and spend some time with them before the party started. (We couldn't stay for the party because of course there was an Aggie football game that night!) We took the girls to eat lunch and ran some last minute party errands for Cathy. While at Five Guys ordering burgers, Emmie decides to ask "What do you have that big belly for?" To which I respond, "That's where baby Jaxon is remember?" She just laughs and then proceeds to continuously poke me in the belly, thinking it is the funniest thing in the world! Ahhh the world of a 4 year old! I was great to spend some time with my sweet girls Allie and Emmie. I miss them so much and wish I could see them more often.
Then of course there was Thanksgiving. Blake came and spent the night with us that Wednesday night and then we all got up BEFORE the crack of dawn on Thursday to drive to Houston so that the boys could meet the rest of their male relatives for a friendly game of Thanksgiving golf. I however was not loving that I had to get up at 5 in order to shower and get things ready to go. It turned out to be a wonderful time with family. This was the first year in several years that everyone was in attendance. I believe there were 28 of us.
It's hard to believe Christmas is right around the corner. The next thing we know little Jaxon will be gracing this world with his presence. I can't wait!
Many Blessings!

Fall Follies Day
Friday was our Fall Follies Day at school. It was a day filled with dressing up, a costume parade, and hundreds of sugar crazed children! I must say there were some pretty creative costumes in the parade. I think my favorite was the little 4 year old who brought a live piglet riding in a wagon with a spider web and spider attached to the cage. Case you guess which story book character she dressed up as? It was by far the cutest thing I have ever seen! My camera battery is dead but I will post a pic of my partner teacher and I in our Fall Follies costumes!
Last home game of the year!
We are getting down to the end of regular season football and this past Friday was the last home game of the year. A little sad but exciting to know that playoffs are just around the corner!! The Cubs played the Magnolia Bulldogs and won pretty favorably, 72-14!

It's a Boy!
About a week ago we went for our 19 week check up and ultrasound. This is where they take all kinds of measurements of the baby and make sure that it is growing like it is supposed to. They check to make sure all the organs have developed properly etc. We were also hoping to find out the sex of the baby. Right off the bat she goes to find the legs and we are proud to announce that...It is a Boy! When she focused in on the area between the legs, I believe her exact words were "There's no doubt it a boy!" We were so excited. We would have been excited either way, but I was secretly hoping for a boy first. I always wanted an older brother and plus we already have lots of girls in the family. We needed a little boy to try to even things out.
If you look closely you can see the two legs with a little "something" in between!
This is a profile picture. He was turned away from the "camera" so it's not the greatest.

Babies R Us
It's been a while since I've posted so let me catch you up to date on things going on in the Mouser household. Last weekend my mom, grandmother and I went to Babies R Us just to find a baby memory book. Two and a half hours later we leave the store with much more than just a baby memory book. It was a great time to check out things for the registry and get input for two seasoned mothers. I never knew there were so many choices to choose from. Good news is I think we finally have things narrowed down so when we do go to register it shouldn't take 5 hours! Key word being "shouldn't".
This past Saturday we celebrated Brett's 29th birthday!! I was going to bake his favorite cake but then he decided he would really like a cheesecake. Great idea because I love cheesecake but I have never made anything other than the Jello No bake kind. The Jello brand is good but it's just not the same, and store bought, to me, just didn't seem personable enough. Soooo...I decided to tackle a home made cheesecake. I found a pretty simple recipe and went to work. Much to my surprise it turned out REALLY good thanks to my kitchenaid stand mixer. There is no way I would have been able to get it as smooth and creamy as the mixer did. I would almost say that it could compete with Cheesecake Factory. It was topped with fresh strawberries and everything!! While letting it cool for 4 hours in the refrigerator, we went to dinner at Alicia's in Cypress. If you've never been, it's worth a trip. Great food and even though it was crazy busy, we didn't have to wait for a table. Happy Birthday to my wonderful husband!

Baby update
We had our last doctor visit on Wednesday, September 15. This was just a quick check up of listening to the heartbeat, and taking my vitals. Everything is going really well so far. We find out if it is a boy or girl on October 13 and we can't wait.
New to blogging
I decided to start a blog so that friends and family would be able to keep up with everything Mouser. With Baby Mouser on the way, I'm sure friends and family that we don't see all the time would love to see pictures and know what's going on and how we are doing. I am new to this blogging stuff so I hope to get better with time!!
